I know we are all adjusting to our “Shelter in Place” order. However, it is clear that lenders, closing attorneys, mortgage and title companies have been deemed “essential services” and we (and they) will be open for the foreseeable future.
Many (most) title companies are open for business with some changed procedures. Some title companies are allowing people to sign documents from their cars in the title company parking lot. Others are asking Sellers, Seller’s attorneys, and real estate agents not to attend the closing (but the pre-signed seller documentation is sent to the title company in advance and attorneys sign the remaining closing documents via power of attorney).
